A native of Argentina now settled in Amsterdam, Rodrigo Otazu came into designing fashion and jewelry not via the traditional channels, but through instinct and natural passion. Drawing from architecture and travel, fashion and the arts, music and fantasy, Otazu crafts highly original creations. “I am self-taught and have a very personal style. For me, design is about a feeling inside me, a sensation you want to share.”

It was some pearl necklaces he had made on his travels that first caught the eye of an Australian Vogue fashion editor, providing the launching pad for his career and the realization of a life-long dream. Initially Otazu concentrated on prêt-a-porter, deluxe costume jewelry, but soon added silver collections, one of a kind diamond pieces and more. He has also experimented with accessories and shoes, and even has a line of furniture.

Rodrigo Otazu is known for showcasing his collections using the world’s leading models. He enjoys collaborating and has done so for Christian Lacroix, Clements Ribeiro, Ungaro, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Viktor & Rolf and even the Italian scooter, Vespa. In the celebrity arena he has created designs for Kylie Minogue, Kelis, Lauren Hill, Aretha Franklin, Destiny’s Child, Britney Spears, Tyra Banks, Jessica Biel and the stars of Sex and the City. A number of Otazu pieces were featured in the latest Sex and the City movie, as well as on television’s The Real Housewives of New York.

Otazu is available in selective luxury venues in more than 15 countries. Rodrigo Otazu personally creates all his designs, giving them the highest degree of personal attention in his production facility in Bali, where his jewelry is made by hand.
